Gay dating has taken on much speculation and criticism for many hundreds of years. Although this pattern has repeated itself in history time and again, it has not been until recently that gay dating has been accepted more and more into the religious front. There are now churches and temples that welcome those that choose to live an alternative lifestyle.

Among some of the denominations that are welcoming gays and lesbians into their churches is the Christian religion.  There are now churches that are of the Christian decent that are ran and regulated by gays and lesbians.  Many people would not consider going to church as a date, but there are many people that do attend church, that are homosexual, and that do consider going to church with their partner as a date.  Following the teachings in the Bible, many churches have come to the realization that they must treat everyone as equals, and love everyone the same, regardless of sexual orientation. The sermons that are taught in gay and lesbian oriented churches are of the same in nature as in a regular church.  The only difference is that many gays and lesbians are much more welcome in an alternative lifestyle church than they are in a church that is strict with the teachings from the Bible.

Religions and homosexuality has long been a war of two worlds.  Just because an individual prefers gay dating over heterosexual dating does not make them a bad individual or someone that God does not love. Many people that are into gay dating have found that they can find someone of the same interests thru a local gay and lesbian church.  Often times, finding people that are like-minded in beliefs and spirituality can bring about closeness in the relationship than one that is lacking some form of religious beliefs.  This is not to say that those that are gay or lesbian are not religious; it merely means that to have a firm system of beliefs that someone else can agree with, believe in, and live by can make for a much more harmonious and understanding relationship, no matter what type of relationship it is.

Thanks to the understanding that all men and women are created equal, many more people are becoming receptive and exceptive of an alternative lifestyle. To have people attend church as a homosexual couple and not live in fear of ridicule is truly a feat in its own right.  People should be able to worship and live their lives as they so choose. It is only fair and just that those that are into gay dating should be able to live their lives in harmony, all the while attending a church or temple for worship and fellowship.  Churches that are tolerant of gay dating and embrace people from all walks of life should be commended, too. Setting an example for all to see is truly something remarkable, and is only setting higher standards for equality for all.
